At the end of the AC program, sides representing North Yorkshire ACs will compete with other sides from Durham, Humberside, Northumberland, South Yorkshire, West Yorkshire and any other side invited to attend in the AC Competition.
There are usually two competition days, usually running from 10am till 4pm, at various venues around Yorkshire and the North East.
At the U14 boys’ and girls’ AC competitions, coaches from the Performance Centres (PCs) at Durham and Leeds/Wakefield/Queen Ethelburgas College (York/Harrogate) will also attend to assess these players and invite c.60 successful candidates to an assessment day for possible participation in the PC program for U15s.
The PCs will then invite two elite squads of 18 players each (including goalkeepers), one for Durham and one for Leeds, onto the program. This represents the best 36 players from the assessment day.
Invitation to which PC will be based on geography, ensuring a 50:50 split between the two centres. Players attending the assessment sessions are not selected by centre, to emphasis the best 36 players from across all regions are selected then they are then placed into a PC centre.
We are the only Hockey Development Group which normally enters full sides in all age/gender groups!!
More information about the various competitions will be displayed here nearer the competition dates.
